“Thirst Trap” was created as a visual extension of my own R&B release. The objective was to craft a sensual, high-impact yet minimalist music video that reflects themes of desire, self-presentation, and emotional tension — all produced with an extremely reduced, one-man setup.
Key challenge: Developing, shooting, lighting, performing, and editing a complete music video as a one-person production, while maintaining a polished, intentional visual identity.
Concept &
Creative Direction
The creative direction focused on building an intimate yet iconic visual language driven by color, light, and controlled performance energy.
Concept pillars:
• Red as the core color symbolizing seduction, intensity, and personal power
• Sharp light–shadow contrasts to create tension and emotional ambiguity
• 4:5 aspect ratio for a modern, social-first visual identity
Minimal movement, maximum presence — subtle gestures over elaborate scenes
• A stylistic blend of R&B minimalism, fashion editorial, and digital-era aesthetics
• The goal was a clean, confident, and atmospheric expression of the song’s emotional core.
Execution
The entire video was produced using:
• Sony Alpha 7iii
• One greenscreen
• A single key light
• A spot light for contour and depth
• A compact home-studio environment
I directed, performed, operated the camera, designed the lighting setup, and managed the full production workflow — emphasizing precision, visual coherence, and performance-driven storytelling.
Outcome
This project stands as one of my strongest visual pieces to date.
It demonstrates my ability to deliver a cohesive, aesthetically refined video under minimalist production conditions — fully conceptualized, directed, shot, and edited by myself.
The video now functions as a core highlight within my Creative Director and multidisciplinary design portfolio.
